Last week, on 26 January 2021, Amazon has announced that Amazon.pl will be launched soon. After new marketplaces in Sweden and the Netherlands were introduced last year, Amazon.pl will be the next European Amazon marketplace. Sellers will no longer sell their products via the German site but directly on the Polish marketplace.

“Amazon has been supporting Polish customers and selling partners across our different European stores for many years, but the next step is to bring a full consumer retail offering to Poland and we are making those plans now,. We are excited to empower small Polish businesses through Amazon and are investing in tools and services to help them grow. We’re optimistic that by focusing on the things we believe customers value the most – low prices, vast selection, and fast delivery – over time, we will earn the trust of customers in Poland.” said Alex Ootes, Vice President Pan-EU Category Management and EU Expansion.
How to start selling on Amazon.pl?
It is already possible to register Polish Amazon accounts, still, at the moment it is not clear when exactly the new website will be available but this should only take a few more weeks.
VAT Registrations & Returns
If you already want to register, just visit sell.amazon.pl and do so 🙂
If you plan to start selling there, now would be the best time to already get your listings translated or to make sure that you meet all tax and VAT regulations.
Storage in Amazon warehouses in Poland
It was possible to store goods in Amazon’s warehouses in Poland in the past. FBA sellers using the Central Europe Program for example could store their goods in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. However, customers from Poland buying on Amazon were basically buying on the German Amazon site, Amazon.de.
This will change now, providing a better shopping experience for Polish customers while giving local and small Polish businesses the opportunity to reach more people all around the world. Accordingly, storage in Poland and the provision of warehouses will continue to increase in the coming years.
Currently, there are 9 fulfilment centres in Poland and the 10th one shall be completed this year, adding another 1,000 jobs to the already 18,000 permanent jobs Amazon created there already.
Where are fulfilment centres located in Poland?
As just mentioned, additional fulfilment centres are expected to be built in the near future. At the moment, Amazon fulfilment centres in Poland can be found in:
- Bienlany Wrocławskie (x2)
In Świebodzin, the 10th fulfilment centre is in the making and shall be ready this year. In addition to these fulfilment centres in Poland, there are an Amazon Web Services office and an Amazon Technology Development Center in Gdańsk.
